Melissa started her career in 2001, when she graduated from Shear Ego School of Hair Design. She then continued to train with amazing local talent and attended classes from all of the top hair companies including, Alterna, Alfaparf, Macadamia,  Keune and Neuma.  She has received certificates for attending and participating at Toni & Guy’s Academy in New York City for advance cutting and color training. Also, McLaughlin traveled to the Goldwell Academy in Baltimore receiving more education in advance coloring techniques and corrections. She now finds herself educating color for TIGI Copyright. She works very closely with her assistants training them for a year and getting them ready for the floor.

​After being in the business for ten years, McLaughlin decided to open her own salon with one goal in mind: open a salon like no other and provide the best hair care and customer service around. Her salon has been open 10 years now!  She specializes in advance color techniques, blondes, precision cuts, keratin treatments and hand tied extensions.  She will not let anyone out her salon door without looking ready for a night on the town!

Stefane Rumiano graduated from Shear Ego School of Hair Design in 2003.  She attended the Goldwell Academy in Baltimore, specializing in coloring techniques.  She also attended classes from all the top hair companies including Alterna, Aquage, Paul Brown, TIGI’s Bedhead, Nioxxin and KMS.   Rumiano began her career at Shear Ego assisting local talent, including Bockus, which began their professional relationship.  As Bockus and Rumiano explored their careers at other local salons, she found formal styling as her passion.  Rumiano and Bockus have been working together for on-site special occasions for over 8 years.   With formal updos as her specialty, you can find her side by side working with Melissa and assisting her with all her colors.

Nicky has been licensed since 1999 and has been receiving extensive continuing education ever since. This is what spurred her love for education, and finally landed her a role on Tigi’s Cosmetic Art Team. For ten years she traveled the globe, working both behind the scenes and onstage, everywhere from rural salons to industry shows and NYC fashion week. She feels blessed to have worked alongside some of the most influential men and women in our industry!

Nicky will customize your look to whatever makes you feel the most beautiful, whether it’s a gorgeous blow out to the most creative cut and color. In addition, she offers full
body waxing, and makeup. One of her favorite things about her career is getting to be a part of weddings and special events!

Since becoming a LPN in 2019 she has  continued her education and she is currently in the GCC bridging program to become a RN. Once she finishes the program she will offer more services such as Botox and fillers. She also graduated Continental school of beauty in 2005 and since then she has continued to expand her services in the beauty industry.

In 2016 she finished the permanent makeup certification course in Manhattan NY through Flirt N Flutter permanent makeup academy and became one of Rochesters first microbladers.
